You only get: 8 pictures, 50 characters for a title and 500 characters for a description to sell your item! You are trying to sell to someone who doesn’t get to see, smell or feel your product in person. Your listing pictures, titles and descriptions better be spectacular, complete and helpful!
Pictures
The famous saying “a picture is worth a thousand words” could not be more true on Poshmark. More than half of online shoppers think that product photos are more important than product information, so if you have quality product images you will get better buyer engagement, retention and sales. It is important to experiment with your photos. In the background, try different colors, different shapes and textures or adding/removing different props. In the foreground, try different lighting intensity and colors and try adding/removing different props.
Title
The purpose of a tile is to grab attention, so the buyer will look closer. Don’t state obvious things about the item that the buyer can see in the picture. If you can, come up with a more intriguing title that will draw your potential buyer to click on your listing to find out more.
Description
Thorough descriptions are a must! What would you want to know if you were buying an item? Tell your buyers what is not included in the picture like texture of the fabric, sizing, weight, elasticity, stitching and other details that are hard to capture in pictures. Look for information about the product that is harder to find and include it in your listing so you have more to offer. The description will most likely be the thing that seals the deal, if you have room after covering all the information you need to, add some styling recommendations to help them imaging how it would fit into their current wardrobe.
Price
Compare your pricing to the same or similar sold items on Poshmark to see what the market rate for your item is. Available listings haven’t sold, so rely less on those prices to set yours, unless you don’t really want to sell your item. Also check for pricing of your item or similar items outside of Poshmark; this is critical if you are unable to find sold items similar to yours on Poshmark. No matter how much you want in profit for your item, it will only sell if it is listed close to a price that a buyer is willing to pay.
Items that aren't selling
If you have items that aren’t selling, create a draft with the information from the listing and delete the actual listing. Let the draft sit until you have time to take different photos, do more research on the description and price, or just get a fresh look at it in a few days.
